“I am pleased to be joining ActivePure Technologies, a company that provides a critical layer of protection against this virus and other pathogens,” said Birx. “My work for ActivePure is a logical extension of my 40-year career in science and public service. ActivePure is a company rooted in science, and I will be doing my best to continue to save lives and ensure Americans are safe at school, with their families, at work and in recreation.”

“Dr. Birx, one of the highest-ranking infectious disease experts in the world, understands the value of ActivePure Technology. As a globally recognized health care expert, we are fortunate to have Dr. Birx join our team,” said Joe Urso, CEO of ActivePure Technologies. “We are at a pivotal moment with COVID-19. Americans want to get back to work, back to school and back to normal, but we also want to be safe. The fastest and best way to help keep people safe indoors is with ActivePure. Dr. Birx’s unique perspectives and experience will help elevate our science-backed, medical-grade technology and bring it to all indoor spaces.”

In December, the University of Texas Medical Branch confirmed that the ActivePure Technology inside two of the company’s devices destroys over 99.9% of airborne COVID-19 viruses within three minutes. In September, the Aerus Hydroxyl Blaster with ActivePure Technology demonstrated in an FDA-compliant laboratory MRI Global, destroys 93% of COVID-19 viruses on surfaces in three hours and over 99.9% in seven hours.

As America begins to scale back their statewide safety mandates, many companies, schools, restaurants, and places of worship are continuing to enforce protocols from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They include reducing capacity and requiring face masks for the safety and comfort of all. Americans want to return to their normal lives and routines, but the only way to ensure peace of mind is to do so with added layers of protection such as ActivePure Technology. Dr. Birx joined the brand because she trusts and believes that its ActivePure Technology is the solution.

ActivePure Technology, backed by science, is the fastest-acting, most powerful surface and air disinfecting purifier available that is safe for use in occupied spaces. It is the only technology that works immediately, in real-time. The brand, whose roots first began with NASA, has more than 100 devices that contain ActivePure, including portable, installed, and hand-held units. The portable units allow customers to operate ActivePure within minutes by simply plugging the device into a wall socket. Most ActivePure solutions cost about $1 a square foot for the areas they protect. In 2020, the ActivePure Medical Guardian was registered and cleared as an FDA Class II Medical Device. Currently, the Cleveland Clinic is conducting a two-year clinical trial to study the impact of ActivePure on reducing surgical site infections.

Birx, a retired Army physician who rose to the rank of colonel, has served three presidents: George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. As U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator for seven years, she headed the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the largest global health program launched by a single nation in history. She has published over 220 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and authored nearly a dozen chapters in scientific publications.

Birx also joined the George W. Bush Institute in Dallas as a fellow in global health.

Why Aren’t We Talking About Destroying COVID in Indoor Air?

An Open Letter on How to Open America

Dear President Biden:

Congratulations on your progress against COVID-19. Masks, testing, distancing, vaccines — all are necessary. But not sufficient.

Any plan to bring America back must deploy technology that can eliminate SARS- CoV-2, the COVID virus, from interior air – safely and immediately.

As the recent letter from 13 public health experts to your COVID Coordinator, CDC Director, and Dr. Fauci warned, contaminated aerosols linger indoors, and action must be taken to limit transmission. “It’s time to stop pussyfooting around the fact that the virus is transmitted mostly through the air,” said Linsey Marr of Virginia

Tech, one of the signers.1

The U.S. is the leader in the technology that can get this job done.

We developed technology, called ActivePure, that destroys the COVID virus in the air and have deployed it for decades. It’s unique, and it works.

By contrast, ventilation does not seek out the virus. Other systems are passive, slow, trap pathogens but don’t destroy them. Many are so dangerous, people can’t even be in the room. By contrast, our technology blasts out sub-microscopic particles that attack viruses and bacteria and destroy them in real time.2 Our system is safe for people and pets, and it works continuously.

It evolved from the NASA space program and is now used by hospitals, schools, offices, restaurants, and other businesses, and in hundreds of thousands of homes.

The technology works not just against SARS-CoV-2 but also against other deadly viruses and bacteria.3 Our FDA-cleared medical device is the subject of a double- blind trial being conducted by the Cleveland Clinic to test ActivePure’s effectiveness against surgical-site infections.4

In battling COVID, mutations are not an obstacle for this technology. It will bring Americans comfort and assurance now and after the pandemic ends.

Recent testing by an FDA-compliant, military-grade laboratory found more
than 99.96% of airborne SARS-CoV-2 is eliminated in three minutes.5 Other U.S. companies may have similar solutions in the future, but spending billions on inferior systems now is wasteful.

Our technology is bringing millions of people back to the life they deserve.

Already, schools that use our technology are back in session – your goal. But every school in America should be benefiting from the science. So should meat-packing plants, grocery stores, health clinics, arenas and restaurants struggling to survive.

As more and more public health experts are recognizing, destroying COVID indoors is critical to ending the pandemic. I urge you and the nation’s governors and mayors to encourage – or, where you can, require — the use of the best technology now.
It is the missing link. Bringing America back depends on it.

Respectfully,

Joseph Urso

Clean (indoor) air should be here to stay

Before Covid-19, indoor air, or air quality for that matter, was an afterthought. Clean air talk mostly focused on pollution in cities. We also knew common viruses are airborne but few precautions were often taken. Air quality is not only an issue for asthmatics or those with allergies but one that is important for everyone’s wellbeing and quality of life.

It is revisionist history to claim we should have known better. We at NevadaAir prefer to look forward, but given everything we have learnt over the last ten months, it is no longer acceptable to go back to the old ways. We need to take a more active approach to indoor air quality.

Clean air should be part of our wellbeing plan, along with exercising regularly and eating better. We spend 90% of our time indoors, and much like outdoors, this air is polluted. Regardless of definition, air pollution is not good for our health.

The overall benefits of better air quality are intuitive, and here we outline some of them, but first and foremost is personal health. Clean air is just better for us and our quality of life.

Beyond the direct effects on health, which include getting sick less, taking an active approach to air quality means having the peace of mind and comfort of knowing every breath is as pure as possible. This comfort translates to greater ease, happiness and productivity. The comfort extends past your own coworkers or employees, but to your clients too. This is especially important in schools, gyms, care homes and other client-facing businesses.

Now the theory is clear, but applying it to the real world is what matters. Wherever possible and assuming the outdoor air is good, the WHO recommends to leave windows open and create air flows in our workplaces. A simple solution, but one that winter, rain and outside noise makes impracticable, and one that hinges on outdoor air being clean.

The more realistic solution is to have mechanical ventilation, but we need to, and should, take a further step and be proactive. By adding a technology that inactivates the viruses and bacteria in the air and on surfaces to a mechanical ventilation system, you find yourself with a state-of-the-art approach to improving air quality.

We at NevadaAir are a UK based distributor of ActivePure® Technology. It is the fastest and most powerful air and surface purification technology in the market. This plug-and-play device can operate 24/7 and minimises contamination in real-time without the use of chemicals or ozone. It has also scientifically been proven it kills Covid-19, along with other viruses and bacteria on both air and surfaces, such as mould, fungus, MRSA, E-Coli and Staph.

Active purifiers, such as those in our range with ActivePure® Technology, are essential to stop the spread of Covid-19 and as it becomes endemic, a longer-term solution is needed. Companies must address re-contamination and cross-contamination long term, and the technology we represent is uniquely suited for that, and thus reduces the risk businesses face from this. Beyond risk, it is also good business to provide indoor air quality to your

workers and clients. Companies offer a variety of perks from gym memberships to health insurance and meals, so why not high-quality indoor air?

The pandemic has made air quality much more front-of-mind but we need to carry on demanding air quality for ourselves and being proactive in this pursuit. We should ensure indoor air quality is here to stay and we have the power to do so.
